Certification requires renewal two years from the date of issuance of the Certification. Therefore, to keep your Certification in good standing, AABC requires the completion of professional continuing education hours.
To satisfy this requirement, you will be asked to choose one of these three options:
- If you have completed at least 2000 hours related to bariatric care and treatment since your previous certification, this can satisfy continuing education requirements. (When filling out the certification renewal form, simply check the box that attests to your completion of a minimum of 2000 hours of bariatric care)
- 20 CEU/CME hours related to counseling or bariatric care, from any accredited continuing education provider (If this is your choice, you will be asked to upload your CEU/CME completion certificates within the application form)
- AABC does offer a 20-hour CEU. If you would like access to our CEU module: https://www.aabc-certification.org/moderationmodule/
(When filling out the certification renewal form, simply check the box attesting to having completed the AABC CEU Module)
To begin the process of Certification Renewal, follow these instructions:
- Complete all mandatory fields of information
- Upload all required documentation, including copies of all continuing education units (CEUs) if applicable.
- Please check the appropriate box if you have completed AABC Module 1 CEU.
- Click the PayPal button to submit the Certification Renewal form and pay the renewal fee of $150.00.
