Tamika Uzzle, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from Chesterfield, Virginia, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). Following completion of specialized education and training in Bariatric Science, she was credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Tamika earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Saint Paul’s College and her Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Capella University. She has over 20 years of clinical mental health experience and continues to provide counseling to individuals, couples, families, and children across community-based, outpatient, and private practice settings.

Tamika is the proprietor of Healing Oasis Therapeutic Counseling, LLC, an independent private practice located in Ashland, Virginia. Her clinical work supports individuals navigating emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns. She integrates evidence-based and client-centered approaches to support meaningful and sustainable change. Her bariatric certification supports the integration of bariatric-focused assessment and counseling within her practice.

Recognizing the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led her to pursue certification with AABC, where she was awarded an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence and dedication to bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC will help advance the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
