Shannon M. Brown, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor from Enterprise, AL, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in Bariatric Science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BСВС).

Shannon Brown earned her Master of Psychology and Counseling from Troy University and currently owns her private practice, Brown’s Heart & Soul Counseling, in Enterprise, Alabama. For more than 20 years she has worked with individuals, families, and agencies in various settings, including, home, probate court, and schools. Her work experience includes case management, emergency response, crisis intervention, and therapy for individuals, families, groups, and couples.

Recognizing the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led her to pursue certification with AABC, where she was awarded an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence and dedication to bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC will help advance the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
