Rebecca Smith, LPC, a Licensed Professional and Dependency Counselor from the State of Ohio, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Rebecca earned her master’s degree and professional training at Kent State University. Currently she works with an adult population. Areas of specialty include pre-op and post-op bariatric clients, trauma, and addictions. Her treatment modalities include EMDR, CBT, mindfulness-based practices, and solution-focused. Rebecca is currently accepting telehealth clients in Ohio.

To provide the best practices she recognized the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science, which led to a fellowship with AABC. AABC awarded her an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence in bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC as well as professional and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
