Paula L Mercer LCSW, CBC
Paula Mercer, LCSW, a Licensed Social Worker, from Lonsdale, Arkansas has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).
Ms. Mercer received her BS in Social Work from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas and her Masters of Social Work degree at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock.
As a practicing Social Worker in Central Arkansas for more than 24 years she has worked with a variety of populations including, pediatrics, families, seniors and veterans.
As the demand for bariatric surgery increased in Arkansas she recognized the need for specialized training and education. To provide the populations she serves with the most current techniques and best practices in bariatric counseling she completed a fellowship with the American Association of Bariatric Counselors and has been credentialed as a Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).
Her scholarship, professional acumen and commitment to public health will further the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
