Marlisa Pitchford, MPH, RD, LD, a Registered and Licensed Dietitian in California, Texas, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Illinois, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Ms. Pitchford received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Cal State University, San Bernardino, a Master of Public Health, and a Registered Dietitian Certification from Loma Linda University.

She has worked with the bariatric populations for over 15 years. She is currently in private practice and provides counseling via telehealth as well as in person. Her professional interests and therapeutic focus are in bariatric counseling.

To provide best practices she recognized the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science, which led to a fellowship AABC. AABC awarded her an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence in bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC as well as professional and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
