Mariam Baroudi., MSc, RD, LD, a Registered and Licensed Clinical Dietitian from Al Ain, UAE, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s (MSc) degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics, at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Her professional experience spans clinical practice, research, and academia. Mariam served as the Head of the Dietary Department at Burjeel Royal Hospital, Al Ain and currently practices at the Czech Rehabilitation Hospital, Al Ain, where she supervises inpatient and outpatient care as well as bariatric nutrition programs.

Mariam has earned over 30 advanced certifications in metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal health, pediatric and bariatric nutrition, obesity management, and disease-specific nutrition support. She has been certified by prestigious institutions, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism. She also holds the SCOPE Certification from the World Obesity Federation, further solidifying her expertise in obesity care and treatment.

To provide the best practices she recognized the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science, which led to a fellowship with AABC. AABC awarded her an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence in bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC as well as professional and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
