Linda K. Baker, M.S., L.P.C. Board Certified Bariatric Counselor

lindabakerLinda K. Baker, M.S., L.P.C., a self-employed Therapist in Robstown, Texas, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC).

After completing a specialized training and education program in Bariatric Science, she was credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC) on January 10, 2013. Linda earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. She received her certification as a Supervisor for LPC-Interns from the University of Houston.

Linda’s professional experience includes out-patient mental health services, working with adults, adolescents, and families. In addition, Linda has worked with adults and adolescents coping with substance abuse and behavioral issues. Linda is currently associated with The Center for Individual and Family Counseling, located at 5151 Flynn Parkway, and The Better Weigh Center at 7121 South Padre Island Drive in Corpus Christi. Her current focus is on Adult Female Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and Bariatric Evaluations.

Board Certified Bariatric Professionals are already licensed/certified health and education professionals. They include medical doctors, educators, psychologists, nurses, nutritionists and other disciplines that engage in research, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of obesities and related disorders.

The worldwide pandemic of obesity and the need for specialized Bariatric Science led to the development of AABC that now has a national and international fellowship.

Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors affirms that its follows have successfully completed all requisite training and education and must continue their specialized training and education to maintain Board Certification
