Janice Petty is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Provider from Accokeek, Maryland, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Janice received her Masters Degree at Hampton University in Virginia. She has over 2 decades of experience providing clinical assessment and mental health treatment services. Utilizing many treatment modalities she provides counseling services for groups, families, and adult individuals.
As a public health spokesperson, her mission is to educate and dispel the myths associated with mental health disorders. Janice is the proprietor of Selah Solutions, LLC, and serves clients in the DC, MD, VA, and NC corridor.

Recognizing the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led to her fellowship with AABC. Because of her commitment to bariatric care, AABC awarded her an academic scholarship. Her professional training and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
