JaNae Kinikin RD, a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist in Douglas, Wyoming, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

JaNae earned her Master’s Degree in Nutrition at the University of Utah. Her scope of work has included providing nutrition guidance in long-term care facilities as well as in private practice. Currently, she practices at Memorial Hospital of Converse County where she is an integral member of the bariatric surgery team. JaNae treats bariatric patients, pre and post bariatric surgery and helps them adapt to the lifestyle behaviors needed for best outcomes. In addition, she serves as Memorial Hospital’s in-patient dietitian. She is a lifelong learner with special interest in research and has worked as an Academic Librarian for more than 15 years.

To provide best practices she recognized the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science, which led to a fellowship AABC. Her certification as a BCBC as well as professional and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
