Jamie Wells, LPC-S, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor based in Shreveport, Louisiana, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). Following completion of a specialized education and training program in Bariatric Science, she was credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Jamie earned her graduate degree in counseling from Louisiana Tech University and is currently working toward her PhD at the University of the Cumberlands. She has a diverse professional background that includes classroom teacher, school counselor, and now clinical director in a college setting.

In her current leadership role at Centenary College, she oversees counseling services, leads crisis response efforts, and develops student-centered mental health programming. Her clinical experience includes individual, group, and crisis counseling, particularly with college-age populations.

Recognizing the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led her to pursue certification with AABC. She was awarded an academic scholarship for her diverse clinical excellence and dedication to bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC will help advance the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
