Elizabeth Terry, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker from New York has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC).
After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board- Certified Bariatric Counselor, (BCBC).

Elizabeth earned her Master of Social Work degree from New York University. She has over 12 years of experience across multiple settings including clinical group practice, community mental health, and service coordination. Currently, she is in private practice. As a bariatric patient herself, she is passionate about supporting clients pre- and post-bariatric surgery.

Recognizing the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science to provide the best possible care for patients led Elizabeth to pursue a fellowship with AABC. AABC awarded her an academic scholarship for her excellence in bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC as well as professional and clinical training and experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
