Elizabeth J. Perlman, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, from Closter, NJ and Charleston, SC has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). Following completion of specialized education and training in Bariatric Science, she was credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at American University and then completed a Master’s degree in Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York. She has over 20 years of clinical mental health experience, including school social work, geriatric care, managed care and currently bariatric counseling. She is the proprietor of Bariatric Resources LLC, a practice that specializes in education and individual support for the bariatric community.

Recognizing the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led her to pursue certification with AABC. Elizabeth was awarded an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence and dedication to bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC will help advance the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
