Dr. Rabab Alhamaqi, MD, a Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine Consultant based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (BCBC).

Dr. Rabab Alhamaqi, earned a Doctor of Medicine and General Surgery degree from Arabian Gulf University and completed the Saudi Board in Family Medicine. Her specialized certifications include Certification in Obesity Medicine from the World Obesity Federation (SCOPE), Clinical Weight Management Certification from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and Certified in Non-Surgical Body Contouring Technologies (Lipolysis). Dr. Rabab is also a Certified Trainer accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, actively training healthcare professionals in evidence-based obesity and bariatric care.

Currently, she serves as the Obesity Pathway Lead and Director at Dammam Health Network, Ministry of Health. In addition, she manages the Obesity Medicine Clinic, providing specialized care and treatment for patients with obesity and metabolic disorders.

To provide the best practices, she recognized the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science, which led to a fellowship with AABC. AABC awarded her an academic scholarship for her clinical excellence in bariatric care. Her certification as a BCBC, and her professional and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment, and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
