Darrin Peterson MA, M.ED a Licensed Professional Counselor and Social Worker from Columbus, Ohio, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science he was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).
Mr. Peterson is credentialed by The Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board holding a professional license in both Clinical Counseling and Social work. He holds two master’s Degrees (M.A., M.ED) from Ohio State University and The University of Dayton where he completed his clinical training. He also completed advanced training in psychological assessment and evaluation at The Ohio State University School Psychology Program.
He currently practices at Metamorphosis Counseling & Consulting LLC, and has over 25 years of clinical experience, working with individuals, families, groups, and couples in community-based, residential, and outpatient settings. Using a multimodality approach to treatment and patient care, that integrates theoretical orientations tailored to specifically meet the need and development of the individual. He is culturally competent and very comfortable working with diverse populations.
Recognizing the emergent need for specialized bariatric training and education he has completed a post-graduate fellowship with the American Association of Bariatric Counselors and has been credentialed as a Certified Bariatric Counselor, (CBC). His scholarship, professional acumen and commitment to public health will further the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
