Rasha Hammad, a clinical nutritionist from Amman, Jordan, has been awarded Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified, Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Ms. Hammad completed her professional training in Nutrition and Dietetics, at Hashemite University in Jordan. Currently, she is an integral member of the multidisciplinary bariatric surgery team at the Specialized Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Center in Amman, Jordan.
She provides personalized assessment and counseling for patients pre and post bariatric surgery. Although has counseled more than one thousand bariatric patients, she recognizes the importance of the individual and customizing their treatment plans.

Recognition of the obesity pandemic and the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led to her fellowship with AABC. Because of her commitment to bariatric care and public health AABC awarded her an academic scholarship. Her professional accomplishments and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and related disorders.

Maribel Rivera, RDN/LD, Awarded National Bariatric Board Certification

Maribel Rivera, RDN LD,Maribel Rivera, RDN/LD, a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist from Lakeland, Florida, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Ms. Rivera completed her professional graduate education at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has over 20 years of experience as a clinical Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. She has worked in multiple health care settings including hospitals, long term care facilities and outpatient diabetes education and weight management programs

Currently she serves as the Diabetes Education Program Coordinator at Advent Health Zephyrhills. Maribel Is bilingual and speaks Spanish and English fluently. She is passionate about public health education and dedicated to the Advent Health Mission …to help the people in our care create a life of whole health by healing their bodies, strengthening their minds, and lifting their spirits.

Robin Spencer, BS, MS Awarded National Bariatric Board Certification

Robin Spencer, BS, MS, CBC

Robin Spencer, BS, MS, who specializes in Health Sciences Health Education, from Wingdale, NY, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

 

Robin earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees, in Health Sciences Health Education, from Trident University International, in California. In addition, she has completed a Massage Therapy program at Florida Metropolitan University.

Robin has personally experienced a lifetime of all the biopsychosocial insults of obesity and has remarkably been able to overcome that lifetime of suffering. That experience has inspired her passion to help to other bariatric patients find resolution.

Recognizing her personal achievements and professional training. AABC awarded her a fellowship Scholarship in their Bariatric Certification and Credentialing Program. Her commitment too public health and health education will further the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity, and related disorders.
