Shaena Wiggins, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Chesapeake, Virginia has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Shaena received her MSW from Norfolk State University and is a proud Spartan. She has worked in the social work field since 2008. Shaena’s private practice, Transformative Therapeutic Services, offers individual, group, and bariatric counseling, and stress management. As a mental health professional and successful bariatric patient, she has a profound understanding of the biases, traumas and mental health suffering most often associated with obesities

Recognizing her scholarship, unique training, clinical and personal experience, and dedication to bariatric health, AABC awarded her a fellowship scholarship for the certification program. Her certification as a CBC will further the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care and treatment and prevention of obesities and related disorders.
