Charlene Marie Pitek LPN, CBC

Charlene Pitek, a Licensed Practical Nurse from Denver, Colorado has been awarded
National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors
(AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in
bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified. Bariatric
Counselor (CBC).

Licensed nurses at all levels are frontline practitioners. Their practical health advice and
wisdom is always sought. Because of Charlene’s personal weight loss surgery success
story, and years of clinical experience she has become active in the bariatric
community. She said, “I found that people were asking my advice and pharmacists and
doctors were asking if they could have patients reach-out to me.”  For this reason, she
enrolled and completed in the AABC Certification and Credentialing Program and
launched Cardinal Bariatric Counseling LLC, that specializes pre and post-op recovery
counseling for bariatric patients.

Recognizing her personal accomplishments, clinical nursing experience and training,
AABC awarded her a fellowship scholarship. Her dedication to bariatric health care will
help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment
and prevention of obesity and related disorders.

Dr. Bat Sheva Marcus, Ph.D. Awarded National Bariatric Board Certification

 

BAT SHEVA MARCUS, LCSW, MPH, PhD, CBC

Dr. Bat Sheva Marcus, Ph.D., LCSW, a certified sex therapist and Licensed Social
worker from the Bronx, NY, has been awarded National Board Certification by the
American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized
fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently
credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Dr. Marcus earned her Ph.D. in Human Sexuality and a Master’s in public health at the
Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality; she holds a master’s degree in
social work from Columbia University and a master’s degree in Jewish Studies from the
Jewish Theological Seminary.

She is the Clinical Director of Maze Women’s Sexual Health the largest independent sexual
health center in the country. She’s the author of Sex Points: Reclaim Your Sex Life with
the Revolutionary Point System. She has lectured internationally on women’s issues,
gives frequent Grand Rounds to medical health providers, as well as lecturing to sex
therapists around the world. She has been a guest on numerous radio and television
shows, including CNBC, CBS News, Huffington Post Live, and NPR and been profiled
in the New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, and Westchester Magazine, among
others.

Recognizing her dedication to women’ health, exemplary leadership and clinical
experience, AABC awarded her a fellowship scholarship. Her professional stature,
public health accomplishments and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global
mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and
related disorders.
