Rida Abeer, MS, RD, CBC
Rida Abeer, MS, RD, a Clinical Dietitian from the United Arab Emirates has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified. Bariatric Counselor (CBC).
Currently Rida serves as a clinical dietitian at a tertiary care, private hospital in the UAE, where she counsels patients pre and post bariatric surgery. As a researcher she has investigated the “Neurobiological and Behavioral Correlates of Food Intake,” at the Imperial College of London, UK.
After obtaining her BSc. in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, from the United Arab Emirates, Rida went on to pursue her MSc in Clinical Nutrition from the UK.
She has also recently received the Bariatric Care Specialist accreditation by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
Recognition of the obesity pandemic and the need for specialized training in Bariatric Science led to her fellowship with AABC. Because of her commitment to bariatric care and public health AABC awarded her an academic scholarship. Her professional accomplishments and clinical experience will help fulfill the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
Huda Al Ashqar RD, CBC
Huda Al Ashqar, RD, a Clinical Registered Dietician and Nutritionist from Abu Dhabi, UAE has been awarded Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).
Ms. Al Ashqar is currently an integral member of the multidisciplinary team at Danat Al Emarat for Woman and Children Hospital in Abu Dhabi. With more than 10 years of clinical experience in both public and private sectors, she provides public education and nutrition counseling for individuals and families. In addition, she counsels patients, pre and post bariatric surgery. She also continues to provide public health education on various social medal platforms.
Huda Al Ashqar received her professional training in Dietetics and Nutrition from the United Arab Emirates University 2008. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Senior Fellow of the American Association of Bariatric Counselors.
Recognizing her clinical experience, and specialized training, AABC awarded her a scholarship in their Bariatric Certification and Credentialing Program.
