Agnieszka Wegiel MS, CBC

Agnieszka Wegiel, a psychologist form Krakow, Poland has been awarded Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC). She is the first Psychologist from Poland awarded this specialized certification.

She is a consulting psychologist and integral member of the Krakow Rydygier Hospital bariatric surgery team. Currently she counsels patients preparing for bariatric surgery and then offers psychoeducation post-surgery. The main goal of her work is to prevent relapses and help patients create a lifespan of health and happiness. Her work in public health includes providing in-service education for health professionals and group counseling for bariatric patients.

Recognizing Agnieszka’s clinical experience and stature as a psychologist, AABC awarded her a fellowship scholarship in their Bariatric Certification and Credentialing Program. Her scholarship, professional acumen and commitment to public health will further the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity, and related disorders.

Aulendrys Rodriquez, LCSW, Awarded National Bariatric Board Certification

Aulendrys Rodriquez, LCSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Paterson, NJ, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Aulendrys Rodriguez has over 18 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings and working with diverse patients, including long-term and brief interventions. The treatment spectrum includes, but is not limited to, the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, stress, crisis management, and obesity and its biopsychosocial disorders. Currently at Englewood Health in NJ, she specializes in counseling patients that are considering bariatric surgery.

Aulendrys graduated from Lehman College in NY with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. In addition she earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work.

Dr. Rebeca Bright, Psy.D, Awarded National Bariatric Board Certification

Dr. Rebeca Bright Psy.D, a licensed psychologist from Port Charlotte, Florida has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized training and education program in bariatric science, she was recently credentialed as a Board-Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).

Dr. Bright has a private practice and enjoys working with people of all ages, offering counseling to children, adolescents, adults as well as the elderly as they cope with life’s transitions. She uses a developmental approach to help individuals from across their life span identify their strengths and meet the challenges that are faced in each stage in life.

While obtaining her doctorate at Argosy University in Tampa, Florida, Rebeca completed a health psychology internship that gave her a wide variety of experiences. From conducting child assessments to counseling the elderly in nursing homes, Rebeca was able to see how the body, mind and spirit work together to guide and support an individual’s journey in life.

Her recognition of the biopsychosocial implications of obesities and the need for specialized competency in bariatric science, inspired her post-doctoral fellowship training and certification with AABC. AABC awarded her a fellowship scholarship in their Bariatric Certification and Credentialing Program. Her clinical experience, scholarship and commitment to public health will further the AABC global mission of providing best practices in the care and treatment of those suffering from obesity and related disorders.
