Jennifer Elliott, LPN, a licensed practical nurse from Alexander, Arkansas, has been awarded National Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC). After completing a specialized fellowship training and education program in bariatric science she was recently credentialed as a Board Certified Bariatric Counselor (CBC).
Ms. Elliott has extensive training, clinical experience and knowledge in both nursing and bariatrics. She earned her nursing degree at Baptist College of Health Science in Memphis, Tennessee. She has practiced in the areas of medical case management, utilization review, pre/post-operative services, quality assurance, workers compensation and legal nurse review. Clinically she has worked as a surgical scrub nurse.
For more than seven years Ms. Elliott served as a bariatric program coordinator for a self-funded non-ERISA. Her diversified bariatric experience includes, contract negotiations, bariatric case management, appeals/denials, quality assurance, pre-authorization, claims repricing, nurse liaison and patient health education.
Recognizing her vast experience, and stature as a clinician, educator and administrator, AABC awarded her a fellowship in their Bariatric Certification and Credentialing program. Her scholarship, professional acumen, and commitment to public health will further the AABC mission of providing best practices in the care, treatment and prevention of obesity and related disorders.
