Maintaining Certification
AABC certified health and education professionals must renew certification by May 15th each year. The AABC certification cycle begins on June 1st of each year and ends on May 31th of the following year. AABC requires the submission of a Certification Renewal beginning on February 1st of each year to be received no later than May 15th. Certification renewal requires 20 CEUs of continuing education in a discipline related to the Bariatric Science as accepted by AABC Education and Standards Committee.
AABC will offer 20 hours of online CEUs each year.
To begin the process of Certification Renewal, follow these instructions:
- Download and complete the Certification Renewal form.
- Attach all required documentation including copies of transcripts for all continuing education units (CEUs).
- Sign and date on the Certification Renewal form.
- Attach a check for the Certification Renewal fee of $ 150.00 made payable to:
AABC.
